Yesterday, David called to tell us to bring the grandkids over for a quick wave to grandpa as his train was going to be passing by the track near our house. His conductor happened to be Karl! Going into the yard, the train in front of him was delayed, so rather than whizzz by, he was stopped for awhile. We had an opportunity to take some pictures...
Ryan decided to put some quarters on the track before the train arrived to show the kids what could happen to them if they got too close. Jocelyn 's kids almost didn't get out of the Suburban because she told them how you could get squashed or cut in half if the train ran over you.
Watching ... and waiting.

Hey I want to see a smashed quarter. In my day all we could afford was a penny. Boy have times changed.
Cherie your blog is soooo cute. What a neat family you have. I love reading you and your kids blogs. It makes me feel a little bit closer to family and Bakersfield. We can't wait to see you all this June!! Liza

What fun grandparents.
It's great to see the fun things you are all doing!
I love your pictures! What an awesome day for your g-kids! I wish I could have seen it. G-pa David is so cool. Next time I'm in town (June) I'll have to get an interpretation of the airbrakes!
PS Thanks for sending the bib. We appreciate it!
